Smartphone provider question

Also, many phone service providers have popped up since the regulatory breakup of
AT&T in 1984. This company, which essentially had a monopoly on phone service until
it was broken up, was cut down, and “baby bells” were formed as separate phone service
providers cropped up. Many of those former “baby bells” now provide prepaid long
distance phone service.

I currently have a Palm TX and love it (can’t live without it actually) but I am tired of carrying around a phone and my Palm.  I want a Palm OS phone for sure.  I have read that Palm is coming out with a new smartphone, the Treo 755p in May or June but it will be with Sprint and I’m a Cingular/ATT user and can’t change (my work provider).  Could I purchase a Palm 755p (without the ‘plan’ from Sprint) and use it on Cingular? Thanks for your input!Weaver~Post relates to: Palm TX
